Mango Mania
Found this in my camera while transferring images from it to my computer...
First mango of the season!

I've always loved mangoes since I was a kid, although I preferred to eat them in a slightly different way back then. (For details, you may please refer to my old post "Being Independent".)
All those years in Patna, I could hardly eat mangoes. The weather over there made my skin severely allergic to them. So I ended up getting big painful acnes if I dared to eat even one single slice of mango! Not so in Jaipur though. Jaipur is more like Kanpur... hot and dry. So I can eat as many mangoes as I wish to now! :D
Apparently, such little pleasures in life DO count a lot.

As a kid, even I used to get acne/boils after eating mangoes!! But not any more and I simply love MANGOESSSSSS!!!! :D
Oh you did too? Well, I never had that reaction to mangoes as a kid. It was only in my 20s this started happening, after we moved to Patna.
When i was a kid, our next door neighbours would have a parade of relatives dropping in from Benares for extended visits during the summer vacations (why Delhi, why??) with crates of different varieties of mangoes. The chausas were wicked fun. You simply rip off a bit of the peel with your teeth and suck the juicy, sticky pulp straight out while it dripped all over and around your hand(s). Gloriously messy.
Oh chausas! Hahahahahah! Yeah... I remember them! Not so crazy abt them now though! :D
