Bejeweled

This one is on suggestion of Mahesh. Thanks dude! This is highly addictive! I play it on zylom.com though. Luckily, I found a Flash version of it that could be embedded within a blog post. You obviously know how to play this game, but for the rest of my readers, this is how you play Bejeweled...

Remember the old Tic-Tac-Toe? Or Cross & Nots, as some of us called it? The objective of Bejeweled is similar... we need to get at least 3 similar gems in a row, so that they can be cleared off the board, and new ones cascade in from the top. Unlike Tic-Tac-Toe, diagonals don't work in this game however. You can either align them horizontally or vertically.

How to get them in a line? By swapping a gem with another adjacent gem. Note that you can only swap gems that will result in a match. In other words, each swap should result in at least 3 gems of the same kind getting aligned and being blown off the board, scoring you points of course, and then the gems above them would drop down in their place.

You get extra points for making more than one match at once. For instance, by clearing one line off the board, if you end up aligning another set of 3 or more similar gems, you would then get extra points for making two matches at once! As you make matches, the bar at the bottom of the screen starts to fill up. When the bar is completely full, you will progress on to the next level. When there are no possible moves on the screen, the game ends.
