Your horoscope for August 28, 2008
As a Capricorn, KS, verbal communication isn't always a strong suit. Working out problems with others can be challenging as a result - especially when you're really angry. Consider writing a letter to the person involved as a means to speak your mind. This alternative may prove far more comfortable and effective for you as it gives you the time you need to think about your words. Further, the recipient also has time to consider your perspective before responding. Give this a try.

Your horoscope for August 28, 2008
Friday, August 22, 2008
It’s easy to say “I have no regrets”… but do we really mean it when we say it?
I made some choices in the past regarding my life, my career… and various other things. Those choices felt right at that point of time in life. But were they really right?
If the whole world around you keeps reminding you of how something could have been if you had taken the “left turn” instead of the “right” that you took, then doesn’t it mean that a part of you does have regrets for making that choice in life?
If, even after years and years, you keep fantasizing about how things could have been if you had made that other choice, then shouldn’t you change your ways and grab the first opportunity that comes your way, which could take you back along that “left turn” you missed earlier?
The Universe has its own ways of letting you know that you made a wrong choice – inner restlessness, frustration, low self-esteem, accidents, ill health – you name it! But the moment you think of getting back to where you belong, your world suddenly turns right again! You feel relaxed and at peace – with the world and with yourself. You feel more energetic and optimistic than ever before.
So then, let’s say for example, there is something in this world that I really enjoy -- I find it extremely relaxing… even “better than sex” in fact! I have dreamt and desired this something for years now. But when I do get it, I give it up only because of my refusal to change! Only because I choose to remain stubbornly inflexible and inadaptable!
Shouldn’t I have any regrets about making this choice then?
Ok maybe right now my ego is more important to me. Maybe right now, my need to cling on to my past experiences is stronger than allowing fresh new episodes in my life to unfold. But what when I’m 90?
(Ok most people get themselves a rocking chair in their sixties, but I started late in life, so I’ll reach the “rocking-chair phase” only in my nineties… not before that!)
So when I’m 90 and sitting in my rocking chair… and reflecting back upon my life… with decades of experience and wisdom-that-comes-only-with-old-age having already squashed my ego to “nothing”… will I still have no regrets about letting go of the one thing that I wanted so much in life – even more than sex?
When I realize that I could have enjoyed that thing for 60 years straight if only I’d let go of my ego instead that day… if only I had taken one more chance in letting the Universe create a happy movie for me instead of the regular disastrous ones… if only I had adopted a little more flexibility in my approach that day… when I realize all of this, would I still not have any regrets?
I’m not 90 yet… I’m still 30… and I may have wasted a few years till now, but I still can have my heart’s desire to enjoy for the next 60 years! As such, I’d rather be regretful now, when I still have time to make amends, than at the age of 90! I’d rather let go of my ego and my reluctance to change, than that thing which I like “even more than sex” and which I’ve dreamt about continuously for the last few years!
I am supposed to listen to the audio book by Carolyn Myss – “Why People Don’t Heal?” But before I started on it, I decided to put down my own experiences related to it over here – reasons which stood as obstacles in my healing.
I remember my Reiki 3 class – I was extremely scared of trying out that “Psychic Surgery” thing! I was sure that I wouldn’t be able to get it right! Hence, I was afraid to even try it! But my Reiki teacher wouldn’t take “no” for an answer! He, in fact, made me practice it for several extra minutes just so I could get comfortable with it. Eventually it became one of my favorite healing techniques for quite a long time.
Something else I was extremely afraid of doing – so much so that I tried to completely avoid doing it 2.5 years ago – only because I was sure I wouldn’t get it right! Finally, this time round, I just told myself that “I can do ANYTHING”! And I had another go at it! Got it right! Did it very well actually (or so I was told)! I still don’t feel completely confident about it though, but, I figured that with the help of some more reading material, I will be able to completely master it.
So, with me, the main problem was “fear of failure”. I avoided trying new things just ‘coz I was afraid that I won’t be successful in doing them. That was the main cause of “reluctance to change” in me.
But now I’m not afraid. I know deep down that I can do anything – I just have to set my mind and heart on it! Nothing is impossible for me anymore! And the only way to overcome my fears is to face them head on… with the unshakable faith that I will be delivered across!
Certain things might not have worked out for me in the past. (For example, I always seemed to attract the worst kind of landlords and PG owners.) Certain things might not have worked out for others. (For example, marriage.) But, I am not “others”… and their experiences need not necessarily be mine! For that matter, even my own bad experiences of the past need not necessarily be repeated in the exact same way! I AM THE MASTER OF MY UNIVERSE! And I have it in me to create completely new “movies” in my life – with completely new endings!
I have always been scared of marriage – as all those who know me well, know! But now I have decided to take the plunge. I don’t know with whom or when, but I know that I can make it work differently for me. I know that marriage does not necessarily have to be a “binding” for me. In fact, I know that marriage will, instead, provide me with even greater opportunities for personal growth! It will enable me to acquire and develop newer ways of self expression and of handling various situations!
I have enough creative powers within me to change the repetitive experiences of failure in my life – be it in financial aspects, or in health or in relationships, or whatever else – and so do you!
We all have the freedom and the power to do things “differently”… and to create different endings for our life story. And, more importantly, we all are MEANT TO BE successful in ALL aspects of life and not just say the financial or material aspect, while we remain “poor” health-wise and relationship-wise!

I haven't even left home yet (will be doing so this Saturday evening) and I'm already feeling homesick!
For the first time in 7 years, I'm feeling this way about leaving home. I don't know why. The weather outside completely reflects my mood inside -- both are gloomy and pouring.
Have been trying to pack my stuff for last 2 days now -- don't even feel like touching the suitcase. Every time I open my almirah to take my clothes out, I get this funny feeling in the tummy.
Today morning finally, I started crying. I don't want to go. I don't know why. I have been away from home so many times before, and for even longer periods. But, never before did I behave like I was off on my very first day at school!
My dad started laughing at me, saying I was behaving like I was going to my "sasuraal". Incidentally, I also never understood (until today that is) as to why the Indian brides cried so much when they left their parents after getting married.
I haven't got married... and I'm only going for 4 months... and my dad has said he'll come and visit... but I still can't stop the tears.

Try holding sand in a tightly closed fist and it immediately slips out from the sides, but, loosen your hand a bit and it remains comfortably in your hand!
I cannot be tied down in senseless rules and bindings anymore. "Freedom", "adventure", "spontaneity" and "fun" are the new keywords of my life!
No more playing re-runs of the same old movies... it's time for some totally brand new experiences!
New Kaddu... new life... new chapters in "my book"! Even my new haircut mirrors my "free spirits"! :-D
P.S. - I still wish I had arms big enough to hug the whole earth! :-p

Been very busy the last week...
had an eye test
also had a thyroid test (still waiting for the results -- hope it isn't positive!)
had another "baby" (oh ok! fixed-up another dying computer!)
ordered some "designer kurtis"
filed the IT returns for last year
found out my new BSNL landline number (still without the phone though 'coz of some cable fault in my area due to excessive rains)
started on a complete new "life-supporting" diet (not "dieting" though!)
sprained or twitched some nerve in my right hip, which was extremely painful!
learnt a new feature in google chat (I don't use it so often, hence not very tech-savvy in it!)
and some other stuff which I don't wanna blog about right now! (personal) :)
Been planning to post another "memorabilia"... something from my old collection... maybe tomorrow...
